First principle is about challenging every single assumption in your idea

Except for the most basic ones that you can’t breakdown or challenge

For example, say you are creating a plane

You can assume plane material, and costs, Automatically …

But then you have to challenge every single assumption

And see why it is that way, can it be done differently

But you don’t challenge why gravity works how it does

So in this case, gravity is your first principle

And everything else can be challenged…

Now, lets say you want to create wireless electricity

this is a much bigger idea and harder one to do…

It is possible though

Tesla had written about it when he was alive and some scientists did a test and it works…
